It was a busy day in Calhoun Circuit Court yesterday, with Judge David W. Nibert presiding over a full docket. - State vs. Marvin Holstein related to drug charge, motion for parole off home confinement granted. - State vs. Elizabeth Sampson, withdrew motion for parole on worthless check charge. - State vs. John Hickman, sentencing on felon in possession of a firearm, given one year with credit for time served and $1,000 fine. - State vs. Billy Ray Hardway, pre-trial hearing related to felon with a firearm, granted permission to have attorney Drew Patton represent him. - State vs. James D. Hall, larceny charges, sentenced 1-10 in state penitentiary, currently serving sentences. - State vs. James M. Jones, sentencing meth related charges, continued to February '07. - State vs.Mark Higgs, filing of information, set for plea. - State vs. Robert Allen Starcher, Jr., ordered revocation of probation, plead guilty to grand larceny, sentencing to follow.
