ROANE TEACHER DIES SUDDENLY - Services Scheduled Saturday

A fourth grade Roane County school teacher has died suddenly. Efforts to resuscitate Jean Anderson-Knopp, 44, of Spencer failed on Tuesday, while she was attending a graduate class.

Elementary principal Mary Jo Ashley said "We have lost a loving and gifted teacher." Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Geoffrey Wayne officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Gay. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today (Friday).

A native of Monongahalia County, she was a teacher the Spencer Primary Center. She was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

Ms. Knopp was a well-known vocalist and had appeared in the Roane Arts and Humanities production of "Annie." She was a member of the Word of Faith Fellowship of Spencer.

Surviving, husband Kyle Knopp of Spencer, her mother, brothers and sister.
