CHS VOLLEYBALL TEAM HEADS TO STATE TOURNEY

Lady Red Devils are excited after school send-off (See earlier Herald story for identification) ... ... boarding bus for state tournament in Charleston The CHS Lady Red Devils volleyball team is off to Charleston, departing yesterday afternoon from Calhoun Middle-High School on a chartered bus, the first CHS girls team to go to a state tournament. They will be playing today at the Charleston Civic Center at 1:30 p.m. against Greater Beckley. "We're really proud of this team. They've got what it takes," said coach Angie Hersman (above) CHS students participated in a rally prior to their departure, with their bus being led by the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department and the Grantsville City Police, making a traditional loop around the county courthouse, tourney bound.
