Richard H. "Dick" Turner, 74 - Gandeeville

Richard H. "Dick" Turner, 74, of Gandeeville, died Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at 11:25 p.m. in the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, after an extended illness.

He was born August 19, 1932 in Ogdensburg, NY, a son of Jean Porter Turner of Ogdensburg, NY and the late Robert W. Turner. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Sally Turner and Peggy Turner; two brothers, David Turner and Art Turner.

"Dick" was a retired pipefitter and a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union, Local 73, Oswego, NY. He was a member of the NRA and the Waddington Lodge No. 0393, F. & A.M., Waddington, NY. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church of Spencer, WV.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Joan Jennie-Belle White Turner of Spencer; two daughters, Dawn McCune of Spencer and Charlene Reed of Walton; one son, Daniel Turner of Gandeeville; two brothers, George Turner of Canton, NY and Lawrence Turner of St. Lawrence County, NY; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the First Baptist Church of Spencer after 6:00 p.m. Friday. There will be no funeral service.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
