BLANKENSHIP SPENDS $2 MILLION "FOR THE SAKE OF THE KIDS"

The biggest news this election in WV? Massey Coal's CEO Don Blankenship has spent $2 million to help West Virginia's Republican party. He says it is "For the Sake of the Kids." In WV politics, most winners have been determined by who spends the most money on campaign ads. The Republican party has embraced Blankenship's support. Blankenship has targeted about 60 candidates running for both the House and Senate that he wants defeated. Blankenship's candidates have also gotten an additional $165,000 from current and former Massey employees, suppliers and family members.
