ROBINSON REMAINS CRITICAL AFTER 70 FT. FALL

(11/06/2006)
Twenty-two-year-old Joel Robinson of Elizabeth remains in critical condition Sunday night, according to a spokesperson at Charleston Area Medical Center.

Robinson fell about 70 feet Friday while working on a new US 50 bridge spanning the Ohio River near Parkersburg. The accident happened on the Ohio side of the river.

Robinson was transported to Camden-Clark Hospital in Parkersburg, and then life-flighted by chopper to Charleston Area Medical Center.

West Virginia Department of Transportation officials said Robinson was working for a subcontractor on the bridge project.
