Joseph A. Prater, 44 - Statts Mills

Joseph A. Prater, 44, of Statts Mills passed away Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.

He was born April 17, 1962, in Charleston, the son of Richard Prater and Blanche Parsons Little.

He was a mechanic for the city of Charleston. Joe was a proud father, an avid hunter, and he loved the Lord. His life goal was to see souls saved.

He is survived by his wife, Kandy Prater; son, Jeremiah Joseph William Prater, 10; daughters, Monica Starr Prater, 24, of Charleston, Brandee Jo Prater, 12, Michaella Kathleen Prater, 7, and Alexia Danielle Prater, 5; brothers, Tim Parsons of Spencer and Wayne Prater of Florida; and grandparents, Miche Seabolt of Spencer and Irene Morgan of Summersville.

Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Kevin Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Parsons Cemetery, Gay.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, is in charge of arrangements.
