By Angie Hersman Calhoun Varsity defeated Parkersburg Catholic 25-9, 19-25, 25-15, 25-10 on Senior Night, Wednesday evening. This was the last regular season game. Calhoun Scorers: Dani Church (85 sets, 6 aces, 2 kills, 7 blocks), Courtney McKown 11 (2 aces, 18 kills, 3 blocks), Tessa Batten 24 (7 aces, 13 kills), Caytee Prusack 14 (3 aces, 5 kills, 1 block), Kayla Hixon 17 (3 aces, 3 kills), Jocelyn Cunningham 3, Melissa Jarvis 5 (4 kills), and Arla Lane 1. Calhoun Varsity record is 14-8. Calhoun Junior Varsity lost to Parkersburg Catholic 14-25, 24-26. JV Scorers: Kayla Roberts 9, Hannah Wilson 10, Shauna Church 6, Arla Lane 2, Sarah Postalwait 4, Larissa Clegg, Kelsey Collins 3, Amy Ashley 3. JV ends the season with a 7-3 record. Calhoun will begin Sectional play on Monday night October 30 playing against the winner of the 6:30 p.m. game between Williamstown and St.Marys, game will start at 8:30 p.m. at Calhoun County High School gym. Gilmer and Parkersburg Catholic will play in the Calhoun Middle School Gym at 6:30 the winner of that game will play Wirt. The top two teams that night will advance to Regional play.
