CMS VOLLEYBALL RESULTS

The CMS Volleyball team traveled to Wirt on Monday, October 16 to take on the Lady Wirt Tigers of Wirt Middle School.

The "B" team was defeated 25-12 and 25-15. "B" team was led by Kenzie Laughlin with 4 points, 2 aces. Brittiny Miller added 3 points, 2 aces; Katie Collins 2 points; Brook Green 2 points, Kayla Cottrell 1 point, 1 ace.

Calhoun "A" defeated Wirt in straight games 25-7 and 25-21 to pick up the match victory. Calhoun "A" was led by Ashley Houchin with 12 points, 1 ace. Rochelle Gerwig added 7 points, 2 aces; Jordan Mace 5 points, 3 aces; Michelle Hall 2 points, 1 ace; Amber Wilford 2 points, 1 ace; Savannah Church 1 point and Kenzie Laughlin 1 point.

On Thursday, October 19 CMS traveled to Ellenboro to play the Lady Trailblazers of Ritchie Middle School.

Calhoun "B" dropped the match in three games 21-25, 26-24 and 25-22. Calhoun "B" was led by Katelyn Collins with 10 points, 1 ace. Kenzie Laughlin added 9 points, 2 aces; Kayla Cottrell 7 points, 2 aces; Samantha Fulks 6 points, 1 ace; Brittiny Miller 5 points, 1 ace; and Brooke Green 3 points, 1 ace.

Brooke Green was 6/8 setting and Samantha Fulks was 3/3. Kayla Cottrell was 3/3 with 1 kill from the attack line and Katie Collins was 2/2. With the loss, the Calhoun "B" drops to 4-7.

Calhoun "A" swept Ritchie 25-21 and 25-22 to earn match victory. Calhoun "A" was led by Savannah Church with 8 points, 3 aces. Rochelle Gerwig added 7 points; Ashley Houchin 5 points, 2 aces; Amber Wilford 5 points; Jordan Mace 3 points, 2 aces; and Michelle Hall 2 points, 2 aces.

Savannah Church was 10/11 setting and Amber Wilford was 8/9. From the attack line Ashley Houchin was 6/6 with 1 kill; Michelle Hall was 5/6 with 1 kill; Jordan Mace was 3/5; Karissa Reip was 2/4 and Savannah Church was 2/2 with 1 kill. The match victory improves the record of Calhoun "A" to 12-1.

Calhoun travels to Flatwoods on Saturday, October 21 to play in the CWVAC Tournament at Braxton Middle School. The tournament begins at 10 a.m. Calhoun plays Walton at 11 a.m. for their first match of the tournament.
