"Lots of kids have wanted to do something for "Goob" Fitzwater," said
Debbie Hartshorn, "We are helping them organize a fund-raiser after the
10:30 a.m. Calhoun-Paden City scrimmage this Saturday."
The tug-of-war "Cash Splash" will be conducted on Wayne Underwood Field
after the scrimmage. There will be teams of eight students who will compete
across the pool of water.
The winners will actually be the teams who raise the most money. Teams
will collect money for sponsorship (any amount individuals desire to donate).
The winning teams will receive free tickets to Regal Cinemas. Hartshorn
said the teams can collect money right up to the tug-of-war.
Teams will have a Captain, with the Captain responsible for the team's fund
raising. Forms for the event are available from Deb Hartshorn at
354-9959.
"Anyone interested in putting a team together, or making a donation to
sponsor a team (little amounts count), can contact Hartshorn.
"This should be a fun way to help Goob and show appreciation. We are
inviting everyone to come out Saturday," concluded Hartshorn.
There will be a Bake sale Tuesday, August 7, at Cha-Ti's for the "Tug of
War" on Saturday.
The girls will be selling
pecan pie, blackberry pie, strawberry pie,
pepperoni rolls, rice krispy treats, peanut
butter fudge, chocolate fudge, brownie s'mores,
brownies, chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies,
peanut butter cookies, and blueberry muffins.
The bake sale will start at 9 a.m.
and will last until they run out of
food. Donations are also excepted at this time
for the Fitzwater family.
