Sept. 2 - Douglas Pennington, 49, shoots his sons Logan, 26, and Benjamin, 24, on the campus of Shepherd University in Sheperdstown before turning the gun on himself.

Sept. 16 - Jeffrey Michael Webber, 43, shoots his wife, Kimberly Anne, 40, in the bedroom of their Martinsburg home before shooting himself.

Oct. 2 - Douglas Beckett, 53, shoots his wife Brenda, 47, in the yard of their Hurricane home before using the rifle to shoot himself.

Oct. 3 - Jason Carder, 27, shoots Brian Shockley, 38, of Oakdale, Calif. in Carder's Milton home and then chases his wife, Lara Carder, 27, outside, where he shoots her before killing himself.

Oct. 15 - Antonio Hernandez, 34, shoots his estranged girlfriend, Tracey Spriggs, 34, before shooting himself in his pickup truck in front of her home south of Martinsburg.

Oct. 20 - A break-in at a Mercer County residence turned deadly when the intruder was shot. State Police troopers are investigating the shooting death of 24-year-old Adam Lee Bennett. The Falls Mills, Virginia, man was killed after he used a brick to break into the house. The home's owner, Rodney Hendrick, shot Bennett once with a 357-Magnum pistol.

Oct. 22 - Lisa Pierson, 39, and her 20-year-old daughter Casey Barker are bludgeoned to death in their home in Malden. Police plan to file murder charges against Pierson's husband, 38-year-old Stanley, who survived after jumping off the Yeager Bridge over the Kanawha River.
