Maxine Greenawald, 88 - Reedy

Maxine Greenawald, 88, of Reedy, died Friday, October 13, 2006, at home, after an extended illness.

She was born October 10, 1918, in St. Albans, a daughter of the late Floyd T. and Bessie Bryan Osborne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Meryl Albert Greenawald; one brother, Karl Osborne; one sister, Josephine Meyers.

Maxine was a homemaker, 1936 graduate of St. Albans High School, member of the Reedy Baptist Church and a resident of Roane County since 1975.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John Karl and Betty Greenawald of Reedy; a sister, Betty Chewning of Myrtle Beach, SC; two grandchildren, Virginia Johnson of Georgetown, TX and John K. Greenawald of Spencer; one great grandchild.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, October 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fairview Cemetery, Reedy, with the Rev. Charles E. "Chuck" Leisure officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kanawha Hospice, 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, WV 25064.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
