BRAXTON HAS 46 INDICTMENTS - Burnsville Town Clerk Indicted

It may have been a record number, 46 indictments in Braxton County.

Many of the indictments were related to meth-making and distribution of controlled substances.

Among the indictments were:

Teresa Self (not the person from Calhoun), the former city clerk of the Town of Burnsville, was indicted on eight counts of embezzlement. She is accused of taking more than $20,000 from the town.

Michael Perez of Sutton was charged with embezzlement, allegedly diverting about $1,200 to his personal use while serving as treasurer of the Braxton County Humane Society.

Jokwin Schoonover, listed as a resident of Spencer, is alleged to have taken an ATV from a resident in southern Braxton County and placing it in another individual's building. Schoonover is charged with grand larceny and aiding in the concealment of stolen goods.

Phillip Sandy of Rosedale is charged with second offense failure to register as a sex offender. He is currently lodged in the Central Regional Jail.

Calvin Cottrell of Clay and Michael Adkins of Walton were both indicted for 4th degree arson and conspiracy. The charges stem from their alleged starting of a fire in the day room at the Central Regional Jail. Cottrell is currently housed in the Huttonsville Correctional Center.

Robert Gibson of Burnsville was charged with delivery of hydrocodone and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

Michael Berlo and Dianna Kay Yoho, both of Burnsville, were indicted on charges of delivery of hydrocodone and conspiracy.
