SAMPSON'S 14TH LEADS CALHOUN TO FIFTH IN LKC

Sophomore Anna Sampson roared to a 14th-place finish Wednesday to lead the Calhoun Red Devil cross country squad to a fifth place finish in the Little Kanawha Conference meet at Mineral Wells.

Sampson had a time of 22:58.0.

Doddridge won the meet with 30 points. Ritchie (49), St. Marys (75), Williamstown (81) and Calhoun (127) followed the Bulldogs.

Maria Kisner, Grace Kaefabber, Emily Brady and Carrie Graffius followed Sampson.

Kisner, with a time of 29:18.4, was 39th. Kaefabber (30:13.5) was 40th, Brady (30:55.5) was 43rd and Graffius (31:50.4) was 44th.

On the boys side Josh Parson led the way with a time of 20:36.4 for 39th. David Lee (22:37.7) was 53rd and Zack Stump 41:05.9 was 62nd.

On Tuesday Calhoun participated in the Doddridge Middle School Invitational. It was the last meet of the season for the middle school.

Steve Kaefabber led the way for the Red Devils with a 72nd place finish with a time of 15:08.0 while sixth-grade runner Luke West was 162nd with a time of 22:53.0.
