Orval Dennis Rogers, 83 - Formerly of Elkview

Orval Dennis Rogers, 83, of Albemarle, North Carolina, formerly of Elkview, West Virginia, and Columbia Station, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2006, at 4 p.m. in Stanly Regional Medical Center.

He was born September 17, 1923, at Valley Fork, Clay County, WV.

He was an Army veteran who fought in World War II. He retired from General Motors, Brookpark, Ohio as a retired Millwright and Safety Inspector. He was a member of the Quarry Lodge #382 and a member of the VFW.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn James Rogers of Albemarle, N.C.; son, Michael Rogers and wife, Stephanie, of Cairo, Egypt; daughter, Judy Ringler and husband, Ken, of Albemarle, N.C.; daughter, Kathy Hilton and husband, Jim, of Aliquippa, Pa.; sister, Beulah Morgan of Westerville, Ohio; grandchildren, Christopher Rogers, Melissa Lawson, Valerie Watkins, Jennifer and Erika Hilton; and great-grandchildren, Joshua and Daniel Lawson and Deakin Watkins.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Linda Denise Rogers; father, Roy Brooks Rogers; and mother, Rose Mae Bullard Rogers.

Service will be Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. at Carl Wilson Funeral Home, Clay, WV, where Masonic rites will be conducted. Burial will be in Pleasant Hills Cemetery, Wallback, with military rites. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
