After a night of drinking moonshine, a Roane County man reportedly shot his nephew in a rural area identified as Pursley Hollow. Police have charged Wayne Howard Mallory, 69, with wounding his 25-year-old nephew, Bernie "B. J." Mallory of Yawkey, in the chest with a rifle about 4 a.m. today. The shot also went through his arm. The victim. who was able to run to a neighbors house to call police, is listed in critical condition in CAMC. Wayne Mallory, who police said was discovered passed out under a blanket, could not recall anyone being shot. He was being held at Central Regional Jail on a $75,000 cash-only bond, police said.
