CMS VOLLEYBALL RESULTS |

| Submitted by Kelley Houchin The CMS Volleyball team traveled to Clay on Tuesday, October 3 to take on the Lady Mustangs of Clay Middle School. The "B" team lost the match 12-25, 25-7, 19-25 and with that loss their record falls to 4-4 on the season. Brittiny Miller lead "B" with 10 points, 1 ace. Kayla Cottrell added 7 points, 2 aces and Katie Collins and Samantha Fulks each added 7 points, and 1 ace. Brook Green and MaKayla Johnson each added 2 points, and Kenzie Laughlin added 1 point. Samantha Fulks was 7/7 setting. Katie Collins was 2/2 from the attack line; Kayla Cottrell was 1/2 and Brittiny Miller was 1/1 with a kill. The "A" won the match victory 23-25, 25-23 and 25-16. Ashley Houchin lead "A" with 18 points, 3 aces. Michelle Hall added 9 points, 2 aces; Rochelle Gerwig 7 points, 1 ace; Savannah Church 4 points, 3 aces; Amber Wilford 4 points, 2 aces; and Jordan Mace 2 points. Amber Wilford was 14/14 setting and Savannah Church was 9/10. From the attack line Michelle Hall was 6/7, Ashley Houchin was 6/8, Jordan Mace was 3/4 with 1 kill and Karissa Reip was 3/3. On Thursday, October 5, Calhoun "A" hosted Walton in conference play. Calhoun "A" picked up the match win 25-18 and 25-7. With the win, Calhoun "A" improves to a 9-1 record on the season. Ashley Houchin lead "A" with 16 points, 10 aces. Rochelle Gerwig added 12 points, 4 aces. Savannah Church 3 points, 2 aces; Amber Wilford 2 points, 1 ace; and Jordan Mace 2 points. Savannah Church was 13/14 setting and Amber Wilford was 6/6. From the attack line Jordan Mace was 4/4, Karissa Reip 3/3, Savannah Church was 2/2 with 1 kill, Ashley Houchin was 3/5 and Michelle Hall was 2/5. Walton does not have a "B" team. Calhoun Middle travels to Braxton on Tuesday, October 10. "B" team play begins at 6 p.m. |
