2006 MOLASSES KING AND QUEEN ANNOUNCED

Queen Kiera McKown and King Dalton McCune The 2006 King and Queen of the WV Molasses Festival was announced last night at Arnoldsburg by elementary school principal Bryan Stern. The new king is Dalton McCune, son of Jimmy and Christina McCune and the new queen is Kiera McKown, daughter of Keith McKown and Tara Miller. They were crowned by former king and queen, Justin Allen and Amber Lane. They will appear in Saturday's parade, which starts at 1 p.m. The king and queen are selected by a-penny-a-vote. This year the students raised $8,848.90, with the funds going for a number of improvements. The King and Queen contest is sponsored each year by the Arnoldsburg Elementary School PTO.
