Miss Leslie Garrett, 13 year old daughter of Stanley and Pamela Garrett of Mt. Zion, West Virginia will participate in the 39th Annual Molasses Festival Parade on Saturday, September 30 at Arnoldsburg.

She will also participate in Roane County's Black Walnut Festival parade in October.

Leslie represented Calhoun County in the recent Folk Festival parade in Glenville, WV.

She is the current Miss Teen West Central, and has previously held the Little Miss Calhoun, Juvenile Miss Central West Virginia, Jr. Teen Miss Wood Festival and Miss Pre-Teen Sweetheart titles.

Leslie competed in the Miss West Virginia Outstanding Teen Pageant at the Metropolitan Theatre in Morgantown, WV in June, 2006.

Nineteen young ladies competed for the title which included numerous awards, including an all expense paid trip to Orlando, Florida to compete in the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant. All contestants were judged on interview, causal wear, talent, physical fitness and in their evening gowns.

Leslie is a Freshman at Calhoun High School and is active in her church and as a Varsity Cheerleader.
