The Women First Program sponsored a Healthy Women's Celebration on Saturday, September 23, 2006. Approximately 25 women came out to enjoy the festivities.

There were four topics covered in the mini-sessions including breast cancer awareness; colon cancer awareness, nutrition and the new food pyramid and the Heart Truth Campaign. The meeting was informal with the women encouraged to dress in support of their favorite local, college or national sports team.

Winner of the "Best Team Spirit Award" was the Red Hat Red
Devils, who not only dressed in Calhoun outfits but also sang
the school fight song and led a rousing cheer for the home team

Door prize winners were Dorothy McCauley (left) and JoAnn Straub

Following a delicious luncheon, each lady received a goody bag of information and materials plus a lunch bag set.

Women First Program agencies include Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Rural Health Education Center, American Cancer Society, West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program, Red Hat Society, Pleasant Hill CEOS Club and community members.
