Lowell Thomas Hunt Sr., 67, of Palestine, W.Va., passed away at his residence Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Arnoldsburg WV, the son of the late Charles Hurley and Erma K. Anderson Hunt. He was an operating engineer with local 132. He attended the Pisgah United Methodist Church of Palestine. He was a member of the Jr. Order of United American Mechanics. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Joan Rupert Hunt; daughter, JoAnn Hunt of Belpre; two sons, Lowell Thomas Hunt Jr. (Tom Tom), (fiance, Cortney) and Stanley Hunt (Christina), both of Elizabeth; and brothers and sisters, Jean Royston of East Pine, Md., Jesse William Hunt of Spencer, James Hunt of Clarksville, Tenn., Kathy Hunt, Chester Hunt and Eileen Hunt. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Jessica (Justin) James of Ocala, Fla., Bryanna (Michael) Roberts of Parkersburg, Jacquie (Matt) Daugherty of Mineral Wells and Dustin and Sammy Hunt of Elizabeth; and three great-grandsons, Dayton Roberts, Korbin Daugherty and Cole Roberts. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
