An 83-year-old Stinson man was injured Sunday afternoon when his four-wheeler was involved in a collision with a van.

Arley Metheney was life-flighted to Charleston Area Medical Center by HealthNet, reportedly suffering from possible fractures and other injuries.

The four-wheeler and van collided just south of Stinson Grocery on Rt. 16 about 1 p.m.

Calhoun EMS and the Upper West Fork Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene, transporting Metheney to the park to meet the chopper.

A relative of Metheney was pinned under a four-wheeler in 2004 at Stinson while berry picking. After surviving a 14-hour ordeal, Nancy Shelton Sigmon, who was 57 at the time, was permanently paralyzed with a broken neck.
