GRAND JURY INDICTS SPRINGSTON FOR VOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER

Greg Springston, 26, of Roane County, has been indicted by a Grand Jury in Grantsville on one count of voluntary manslaughter, related to the death of a Spencer man who was killed in a collision in which Springston was a driver of the other vehicle. The fatal accident happened at Letherbark, in February 2005. Thomas Waggoner, 23, the driver of an Olds 88, died on scene shortly after the crash. Springston was also indicted on one count of Driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, resulting in death. He has been incarcerated in CRJ, on a capias warrant for failure to appear before the a court. Court records also indicate Springston was driving on a suspend/revoked license.
