County-wide Recreational Plan Clears Initial Hurdle With Unanimous Support

A county-wide recreational management plan conceived by Glenville State College's Lady Pioneer basketball coach Steve Harold was adopted by a unanimous vote by Gilmer County Parks and Recreation Board Tuesday evening.

Gilmer County voters will have the final word, as bringing Harold's vision to fruition will require election day excess levy approval for the Gilmer County Parks and Recreation Commission.

The levy must pass by a margin of at least 60-percent. It missed the mark previously by a mere 3-percent.

Harold is passionate about what he believes are wide-ranging benefits of organized recreation for all county citizens - youth to adult.
