Laura Simons Bell, 88 - Spencer

Laura Simons Bell, 88, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Monday, August 28, 2006, at her home.

She was born April 23, 1918, at Oka, Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia Griffin Simons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Bell; one son, George Thomas Bell; six brothers, Cecil, Ofa, Willard, Bruce, Russell and Everette Simons; three sisters, Allie White Lowery, Anna Boggs and Evelyn Simons.

Mrs. Bell was a retired employee of Spencer Hospital. She was a former employee of Roane General Hospital and Spencer Grade School.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Teresa Simons of Winfield and Steve and Tina Bell of Spencer; one daughter, Sherry Bell of Spencer; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, August 31 at 11 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Leon B. Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
