Mary S. Starkey, 83 - Parkersburg, formerly of Grantsville

Mary S. Starkey, 83, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, went to be with her heavenly Father and beloved husband on August 25, 2006 at her home.

She was born August 9, 1923 at Apple farm, Calhoun County, WV, a daughter of the late George and Bessie Stump Wilson.

She was a graduate of Calhoun County High School and was a faithful member of Knotts Memorial United methodist Church in Grantsville, WV, where she was president of the United Methodist Women for many years.

In addition to her parents and husband, William B. Starkey, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Luke, Henry and Hugh; four sisters, Treacy Jane, Eda, Donnie and an infant sister; a grandson, a granddaughter, and a step daughter, Joyce Ann Starkey.

Surviving are a daughter, Hope Phillips of Mineral Wells; sons, George Hannah of New Mexico, Edwin Hannah and his wife Robin of Parkersburg, and Frederick Hannah and his wife Janice of New Market, VA; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; a step son, Greg Starkey and his wife Barb.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 29 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the the services Tuesday.
