WAL-MART STILL WV'S LARGEST EMPLOYER

Wal-Mart, which has been the number one employer in the Mountain State since 1999, is still on top of the annual rankings released today by Workforce West Virginia.

West Virginia University Hospitals-United Hospitals moved up one spot to second and Charleston Area Medical Center fell to third.

Kroger remains fourth, and CSX fifth.

American Electric Power is sixth, followed by Lowe's Home Centers, Consolidation Coal, Verizon and St. Mary's Hospital.

Twenty-one of the largest private employers are hospitals or other health care providers.

No manufacturing plant made the top ratings.
