OUTHOUSE IGNITES - Boy Clings To Branch

(08/23/2006)
It has been a slow news day.

An outhouse near the Orma church caught on fire yesterday afternoon at 1:36 p.m.

The Upper West Fork Volunteer Fire Department doused the outhouse with water, saving it from burning down.

A report on the origin of the fire was not available.

The Grantsville VFD was summoned at 8:25 p.m. for assistance in rescuing a 10-year-old boy who fell over a steep embankment on Munday Road.

The youth, who had exited a car to use "the outside facilities," was clinging to a tree branch "tiring quickly."

He was reportedly rescued by his mother, who obtained a garden hose from a nearby residence.

He was not seriously injured and the fire department returned to station.
