SHOCK CEMETERY GETS ITS' OLD GLORY

(07/10/2016)

The flag was raised high over the Shock Cemetery, located on a hill above one of the county's narrow but beautiful valleys, known in these parts as hollers

Members of the Grantsville VFW Post 5959 continued its efforts yesterday to erect flag poles with American flags throughout the county.

The Shock Cemetery is located on Little Rush Run of Steer Creek (Sherman District) in the greater Apple Farm Area, therein rests many of early members of the Shock family, with the earliest burials before the Civil War, including early comers Robert and Margaret Shock.
