"We hope to make it exciting again," said Daniel Harry Beall, well-known local musician, the new director of the Calhoun High Red Devil Marching Band. Beall said band camp will start Monday at the CM/HS campus, and will be conducted on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for three weeks from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Beall performing recently in Grantsville Beall said he is hoping to develop some new programs for field shows and "put some pizzazz" in the routines. "Revitalizing the band is a challenge. I hope I am worthy of it," he said.

Beall was a band member for six years at Calhoun, graduating in 1971. "Joe Wilt was doing his magic" when Beall was a student. "He was a wonderful teacher."

He said the band needs new members. "If some new or old kids are interested, give me a call." Phone 354-6649 or e-mail hbeall@yahoo.com
