KARA HAYMAKER COMPLETES YEAR OF SERVICE

Kara Haymaker began a year of service on July 23 2005, to Calhoun County by becoming an AmeriCorps*VISTA member with WVU Extension Service.

During the year Kara has worked with the Calhoun County Family Resource Network to establish the Family Storyteller Program at the Middle-High School, reestablished the Glenville State College Collegiate 4-H Club, was the principal writer for a successful grant proposal which supports the Energy Express Program and helped to create an interactive game which teaches financial education concepts to youth.

Kara has had a successful term of service and which was completed July 2006. She will return to Glenville State College to continue her studies in behavioral science.

The AmeriCorps*VISTA Program enables a volunteer to serve a community for one or more years to meet local needs.
