Thomas G. "Tom" Bowen, 54, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, in the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio, after a short illness. Tom was born January 1, 1952, in Akron, Ohio, a son of the late Rev. John W. and L. Ruth Bartlett Bowen. He was a born again Christian and served as a deacon at the Spencer Tabernacle Church, Spencer. Also, he worked ten years for the Roane County Board of Education as a bus driver. Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. "Trish" Fox Bowen of Spencer; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Tim Couch of Vienna & Jennifer and Andy Kinder of Spencer; two brothers, Garry Bowen and David Bowen both of Spencer; one sister, Cathy Snodgrass of Spencer; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A memory service was held Saturday, July 15 in the Spencer Tabernacle Church with Pastor Loren Price as host. Contributions may be mailed to the family of Tom Bowen, 10 Goff Run, Spencer, WV 25276. John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, was in charge of arrangements.
