James Joshua Scott, 68 - Five Forks

James Joshua Scott, 68, of Five Forks, Calhoun County, West Virginia, passed away July 16, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg following a long illness.

Born at Sand Fork, he was a son of the late Rev. Paul and Peral Dye Scott. He was an oil field worker and well tender and was a member of the Beech Valley United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Loretta Welch Scott and children, James Paul Scott of Glenville, Jason Scott of Parkersburg, Beverly Dawson of Big Springs, and Marie Frymier of Grantsville; Foster daughters, Marie Jones and Sue Dawson; a sister, Naomi Hinzman of Linn; 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Caleb Scott; a sister, Lenora Collins; half sisters, Sylvia Phillips and Helen Gibble; and halh brothers, Paul, Harold and Blair Scott.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 20 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Reverands John Allen and Lawson Whipkey officiated. Interment was in the Big Springs Cemetery.
