Authorities have identified her as 12-years-old.

Using a cell phone, she claimed she was inside the truck of a car, traveling the I-79 corridor.

Authorities in several counties, including Calhoun, were alerted about the incident and hundreds of law enforcement officers began responding.

The girl's call for help hit 911 centers in Braxton and Upshur counties .

She described the driver as being heavyset with braces on his teeth, wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt with the word "Beware."
