ROANE MAN JAILED FOR "DOCKING" DOG'S TAIL

(07/30/2006)
A Roane County man who was accused of cutting off a puppy's tail has been sentenced to Central Regional Jail for 10 days.

Kenny Boggs, 40, of Spencer was sentenced last week by Roane magistrate Russell Goodwin for animal cruelty. He must also pay fines and restitution.

Boggs told a deputy sheriff he used a knife and a hammer to remove the tail.

The dog underwent emergency surgery and is recovering with its new owner Vikki Starcher.
