FRONTIER EXPANDING HIGH SPEED TO CALHOUN

(07/30/2006)
Frontier Telephone is expanding high-speed Internet service to Calhoun, according to manager Karen Effaw of St. Marys.

"Frontier High-Speed Internet is many times faster than a conventional dial-up Internet connection, and also includes anti-spam technology," Effaw said.

High-speed service can be made available within a three mile radius of a phone company office or sub-station, and has already been available in the immediate Grantsville area for some time.

The service, following the installation of new equipment in sub-stations, has been expanded to the Big Bend, Five Forks, Big Springs, Ayers, Arnoldsburg, and Chloe areas.

It is expected to be up and running soon in the greater Mt. Zion area.

Effaw said service is being expanded this year to the Adam/Altizer area, the Letherbark US 33-119 area and the Stumptown area along US 33-119.

Service to Hur, Orma, Big Run, Milo and Freed areas is not currently part of the project.
