WOMAN ARRESTED FOR 29 WORTHLESS CHECKS - Calhoun Magistrates Report

Local resident Jennifer L. Howell has been arrested and placed in regional jail for 29 worthless checks she passed to Grantsville and Arnoldsburg merchants. Howell was arrested on July 18 and is waiting bond, according to magistrate court records.

Howell issued seven checks to Foodland, eight checks to Cha-Tis, four checks to Speedy Mart, eight checks to Dollar General Store, one check to J & B Drug Store and one check to Red Brick Carry-Out.

A hearing has been scheduled for Elizabeth Sampson of Big Bend on August 8 for passing nine worthless checks to Cha-Tis, Grantsville Foodland and Baker's Mart. Sampson has been arrested on the multiple-count worthless check charge.

Harold Cadle has been cited for battery on July 18; George Richard Duskey has been cited for public intoxication and destruction of property on July 12 by Deputy Ron Bandy of the Calhoun Sheriff's Department; Eric Dewayne Marks was cited for DUI-2nd on July 13 by Sheriff Allen Parsons with plea of guilty.

Helen Sue Rose was cited for no MVI by Calhoun Sheriff's Department on July 16, assessed fine and cost; Oliver Newton Rose was cited for no operators on July 16 by Calhoun Sheriff's Department, assessed fine and costs; Howard E. Starcher was cited for following too close/tailgating on July 12 by Calhoun Sheriff's Department, pled not guilty, set for pre-trail on August 16.
