Police have been responding to domestic problems involving threats with weapons, starting Wednesday evening and continuing through the early hours today.

Early Thursday morning, Sheriff Carl Ballengee and Trooper 1st Class J. B. Hunt responded to a domestic dispute at Orma where a man was reportedly making threats with a knife.

Authorities arrested Michael Dewayne Knicely, 37, for domestic battery. Knicely was taken to Central Regional Jail.

A Millstone woman summoned help Wednesday evening, stating her ex was threatening to "kill her," indicating she had obtained a domestic petition against the man.

Domestic disputes with threats of violence are the most prevalent calls for help in Calhoun County.
