Emergency services responded at 8:44 a.m.

The man has been identified as Eugene Hamm, 30, of Palestine.

Hamm was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was driving a 1990 Subaru that was headed east, when his vehicle collided with a westbound 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Diane Kyer of Spencer.

She was taken to Jackson General Hospital, her condition is unknown.

The accident happened in a curve near the intersection of Reedyville-Golf Course Road during a rain, according to the Times Record-Roane County Reporter.
