STORM CAUSES POWER OUTAGES

(07/05/2006)
A power outage struck much of Calhoun on the 4th of July after thunderstorms with high winds downed trees on power lines.

The outage began shortly after 1 p.m. with power being restored to most areas by 7:30 p.m.

Outages were reported in most of northern Calhoun, from Grantsville north and in the greater Pine Creek-Hur-Rowels Run area.

A weather alert is still in effect for the region through the afternoon.
