A criminal investigation is continuing in connection with the confiscation of 100 marijuana plants in Calhoun County, Cpl. D.P. Starcher confirmed Tuesday evening.

Cpl. Starcher, of the West Virginia State Police, Grantsville detachment, said no one has been taken into custody at this time.

Arrests are anticipated in the case, according to Cpl. Starcher. He indicated the matter could go directly to a future grand jury.

Neither the Glenville, nor the Grantsville detachment, released details of the precise date or location of the marijuana seizure.

Cpl. J.E. Skidmore, Glenville detachment, said the plants were near the Gilmer-Calhoun line and indicated the seizure occurred in the past several days.

Tr. M.S. Summers, of Glenville, aided in the case.

Anyone with information regarding illegal drug or other criminal activity can call their local West Virginia State Police detachment. All information, including the identity of the callers, is kept confidential, police said.
