The Calhoun County Board of Education delayed a second time in two months making a decision about hiring a principal for Calhoun Middle-High School.

The board's three new members, sworn in at last month's meeting, went into executive session with the two current members and superintendent Ron Blankenship.

After 45-minutes, they announced no decision was made.

A list of the applicants have not been made available.

The opening occurred after principal Mike Offutt resigned to accept a position in Roane County.

Lee Evans was elected as president of the board last night and Cynthia Dale was elected to serve as vice-president.

New board members, Mike Wilson and Steve Whited voted for Lee Evans to be president of the board, with Evans voting for himself. The two current members, Joy Starcher and Cynthia Dale voted for Dale.

Evans appointed Steve Whited to be on the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center Administrative Council, Joy Starcher to be on the RESA-V Advisory Council and Cynthia Dale to be on the WVU Extension Service Committee.

The next meeting is scheduled for July 17th at 7 p.m.
