Ernest "Uncle Bud" Hively, 75 - Spencer

Ernest "Uncle Bud" Hively, 75, of Spencer, died Thursday, June 29, 2006, at his home after a short illness.

He was born December 24, 1930 at Walton, a son of the late Willie and Nora Lowe Hively Sparr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, George Sparr; sisters, Ruby Steele, Beulah Mae Shiltz and Freda Hively.

Mr. Hively was a retired machinist for Parson Mold and Machine, Akron, OH. He was a member and deacon of the Spencer Tabernacle Church, a member of the Moriah Lodge No. 38, A.F. and A.M. and a member of the Wetzel Chapter No. 127, O.E.S., both of Spencer.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marie "Aunt Reek" Bowen Hively of Spencer; a sister, Virginia Bowen of Plattsburgh, NY; caregiver, Knute Patterson of Walton; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 1 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Loren C. Price officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday.
