GRANTSVILLE MAN ARRESTED FOR BATTERY - Bleeding Man "Dropped" At Calhoun EMS

(06/29/2006)
State Police arrested 31-year-old Daniel Allen McCullaugh (left) last night on Wigner Street in Grantsville after a female resident called 911 stating there was a "fight" with the 320-pound man.

McCullaugh was charged with two counts of battery and taken to Central Regional Jail.

Police were called to the same address later Wednesday, where McCullaugh's mother was reportedly "causing problems."

A Pine Creek man was "dropped off from a vehicle" at Calhoun Control yesterday evening, suffering from lacerations and bleeding, apparently self-inflicted.

Calhoun EMS was on another call but returned to the station to assist the individual, who was having "problems." Calhoun Sheriff Carl Ballengee was reportedly involved with a mental hygiene hearing to obtain help for the man.

Sheriff Ballengee accompanied an ambulance crew to Tipton Hollow where a man reported he was having chest and back pain, which followed an earlier incident where the subject allegedly made threats against a neighbor's property.
