RAVENSWOOD ALUMINUM PLANT PICKETING

(06/21/2006)
Union workers at the Ravenswood's Century Aluminum Plant say they deserve and demand a better contract than what they've been offered.

Members of United Steelworkers Union Local 5668 delivered that message after starting an informational picket line Tuesday in Charleston.

The worker's contract ran out May 31st, with the union already agreeing to a 14-day extension.

Union member Anthony Riffe says the company is not trying very hard. "We don't feel like the company is bargaining in good faith. We don't feel like they're coming to the table in good faith."

He says "Our message to the company is to be fair, share the wealth."
