Andy Walker, a newly hired Glenville Police officer, began his duties just prior to the start of the WV State Folk Festival.

The 25-year-old comes to the area with three years experience, previously working as a city policeman in West Salem, Ohio.

He was introduced to the area on a hunting trip and eventually decided to watch for an opportunity to relocate here.

"It's a nice community," Walker said.

Walker spent his youth in Florida and Ohio. His father was a deputy sheriff in Orlando, Florida.

When asked about his best experience as a policeman Walker said it was finding a missing 13-year-old girl. "We got her back to her family and she wasn't hurt."

Glenville now has three full time police officers.
