A $60,000-$70,000 piece of oil and gas field equipment has been stolen from Key Energy in Arnoldsburg, according to company spokesman Richard Wine.

A $1,500 reward is being offered by the company for the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.

The 2.5 Bowden Swivel used for running pipe on drilling operations, was stolen from the company yard after thieves used bolt cutters to gain access.

"They loaded the heavy apparatus on a 2000 Chevy truck they got in the yard," said Wine, making away with it the weekend of June 10-11th, likely early Sunday morning.

"We're asking the public for any help they can give us," Wine said.

The truck was discovered the following Tuesday on Cabin Ridge near Arnoldsburg, where the apparatus was likely shifted to another truck.

The theft of the field equipment is among a series of incidents that have happened in the region during the past several months.

Some of the earlier equipment was discovered on or near Clay County's "Murder Mountain."

Information or tips regarding the theft can be made to Mike O'Brien or Richard Wine, Key Energy, Arnoldsburg WV 304-655-8888.
