Leslie Clay Sears, 79 - Norton, Ohio

NORTON - Leslie Clay Sears, 79, went home to be with the Lord on June 15, 2006.

He was born March 25, 1927, in Nicut, W. Va., to Clay and Seretha (King) Sears. He married Kathleen Houchin on July 14, 1951. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather, he had been a resident of Norton since 1961. He retired from East Ohio Gas in 1987 with 30 years of service. He enjoyed bluegrass music, his second home in West Virginia, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Sears; brother, Darius Sears; and his parents. He is survived by wife of 55 years, Kathleen Sears of Norton; children, Donna (Greg) Stine, David (Irene) Sears, Sherry (Rick) Bechter, Lowell (Linda Yeager) Sears, and Darlene (Dave) Lawson; grandchildren, Eric (Diana) Bechter, Jason Bechter, Michael (Amanda) Sears, Matthew Sears, Dana (Michelle) Lawson, Greg (Crystal) Lawson, Kyle Sears, Amy (Carl) Preusser; great- grandchildren, Trystian Lawson, Skyler Lawson, Natalie Bechter; sisters, Mary Eakins, Olena (Mickey) Pyle, Delores (Ray) Church; and brothers, Dorsey (Mary) Sears, Delbert (Jean) Sears.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Denise Lyons and Hospice.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 20, at 11 a.m., at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, with Pastor William Moore officiating. Burial at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
