AN ALMOST FULL MOON NIGHT - Accidents And Emergency Calls

(06/10/2006)
A busy emergency services night, with a pending full moon.

A State Police trooper called for additional assistance regarding a subject he was attempting to arrest near the Big Otter-Route 16, I-79 exit.

The officer reported he had taken one subject into custody but was having difficulty with a second individual.

Trooper 1st Class Jeff Hunt and Calhoun Sheriff Carl Ballengee responded to the scene at 1:22 a.m.

An auto crashed through a garage near the Calhoun-Ritchie Line at 3:45 a.m. with the driver or occupants leaving the scene. No injuries were reported, but an individual was spotted walking from the accident down Big Springs Hill a short time latter, according to Sheriff Carl Ballengee.

Roane emergency services dispatched the Spencer-Roane and Reedy VFD and the Roane Emergency Squad at 4:45 a.m. to a single-vehicle car accident on "the straight stretch" of US 33 just west of Spencer, the auto on its top.

Reports from the scene indicate three occupants of the car left the area, some of them reportedly intoxicated.

Rescue workers were searching the area for possible victims.
