METH RELATED ARRESTS SPIKING JAIL CENSUS

(06/10/2006)
The numbers at Central Regional Jail dramatically increased yesterday because of drug arrests in Clay and Nicholas County.

The Clay Communicator issued a list yesterday of those picked-up in a raid, all linked to the possession of ingredients used to make meth.

The list includes Sandra Sears, Michael Short, Steven Lee Robinson, William Snapper Johnson, Cristian Stuber, Homer Williams and Christopher Graham, with 10 warrants still outstanding.

William Snapper Johnson made a $10,000 cash or surety bond.

Most of the arrest warrants came from Nicholas County related to over-the-counter purchases of "Sudafed products," the sale of such products are now strictly regulated.

Clay Sheriff Holcomb told the Clay Communicator it is "The Sudafed Round-Up."

Authorities continued to make arrests throughout the day, with eleven reported by 2:15 p.m.
